About Thane Smart City

Thane is one of the 10 cities from Maharashtra in the Smart Cities Challenge and was selected by MoUD in Round 2 of the challenge on 20th Sept 2016

The SPV – Thane Smart City Ltd (TSCL) was incorporated on 18th Oct 2016 under the Companies Act, 2013, wherein GoM and TMC are the promoters 

TSCL has the mandate to plan, implement, monitor, and manage, the Smart City development projects in Thane.

As per Mission guidelines, Thane has components at two levels:

Area Based Development (ABD) (retrofitting in the city center area of about 1000 Acres and 70 Acres of Redevelopment)

Pan-city initiative in which Smart Solutions are applied covering the entire city
